Emily Klingman
My name is Emily Klingman. I hail from Cary, NC. I am a graduate of East Carolina University with dual BFA degrees in Theatre Arts Education and Musical Theatre (summa cum laude). My professional acting credits include: Dromio of Syracuse in Comedy of Errors with Central Piedmont Community College, Ratio Theatre's Children's Theatre Summer Stock, Side by Side by Sondheim, Carol in Oleanna, and Agnes in Agnes of God with Ratio Theatre Company; dancer and understudy for Mary Greene in Horn in the West, Sooze in Suburbia, and Max in Where the Wild Things Are with the Southern Appalachian Historical Associaton, Boone, NC.
I teach and direct for Davidson Community Players for their education program.
I am on the board for the North Carolina Theatre Conference, a statewide service, leadership, and advocacy organization with a membership network dedicated to strengthening NC's vibrant theatre industry. Our year-round events and programs foster member collaboration and provide professional development and educational opportunities.
I am, also, the chair for the North Carolina Theatre Arts Educators' NC Young Playwrights Festival program. NC Young Playwrights is a program dedicated to increasing playwriting in the K12 classroom in NC.
I am an active member of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Theatre Community.
